"No list of the best bars in Mexico City would be complete without Limantour. If you love cocktails, you absolutely cannot miss this spot. It consistently makes the list for the top ten bars in the world and regularly ranks as the number one bar in Latin America. The menu is more like a novella with more than a dozen pages, organized by type of alcohol, filled with different cocktails. My personal favorites are the mezcal and tequila cocktails, but they also have whiskey, vodka, rum, and gin. It gets very busy on weekends, so be sure to get there early or be prepared to wait for a table. "

"No. 7 Worlds 100 Best Bars 2023 (17 in 2020, 10 in 2019) How things have changed since Limantour first opened its doors in 2011. Back then, bitters had to be imported in suitcases and cocktails were not that popular in Mexico. In the ensuing year, the dynamic duo formed by owner Benjamin Padrón and bar manager José Luis León have not only put their bar on the map — a fixture on this list since 2014 — they’ve also opened the door for other Mexican bars. So how did Limantour become this beloved institution? Much like their delicious Margarita al Pastor (spiced up with a ‘taco mix’), the secret is in the blend: a party bar that is snug enough to make you feel at home if you just want a quiet one, warm service and great, inventive drinks that remain familiar enough to please both discerning and casual drinkers. Just like Mexico City, Limantour contains — and pleases — the many."
