"best steak _ recommended by Jimmy"
@paris.michalatos
"Peter Luger est une institution de la ville. Ce Steak House propose le meilleur de la viande américaine, maturée par leur soin. L’immanquable de la carte est le steak for two, gras et persillé, qui arrive encore crépitant sur la table. Il s’accompagne de pommes de terre écrasées et grillées dans les sucs de cuisson et d’épinards très crémeux. On y va aussi pour l’ambiance et la clientèle en costard, un peu old school, qui vient boire des bières et manger de la bonne viande. "

"Michelin Guide mention 2024 Peter Luger is an idolized classic that runs on wheels by a team of gloriously forthright waiters. This paean to beef doesn't just serve legendary steaks, but a side helping of history too. Its unapologetically old-school décor tells of family gatherings, friends united and success celebrated. Credit cards remain a fanciful concept, so you'll need to come with a few Benjamins tucked into your wallet. Start with a thick slice of bacon to get your taste buds up to speed before the steak arrives. These slabs of finely marbled Porterhouse are dry-aged in-house, then broiled to perfection and finally served with their own sauce, as well as a host of sides (think German potatoes and creamed spinach). Of course, there is always room for cheesecake-and schlag."

""More than just an icon of the NY dining scene—Peter Luger is a veritable rite of passage. Run on wheels by a team of gloriously forthright waiters, this munificent paean to beef doesn’t just serve legendary steaks, it provides a side helping of history too. The wood paneling and beer-hall tables tell of family gatherings, friends united, deal making, success celebrated and stories swapped. It’s evocative and unforgettable. It’s also unapologetically old-school—computerization and credit cards remain fanciful futuristic concepts, so you’ll need to come with a few Benjamins tucked into your wallet. Start with a thick slice of bacon to get your taste buds up to speed before the steak arrives. These slabs of finely marbled Porterhouse are dry-aged in-house for around 28 days, which means there’s tenderloin on one side of the bone and strip steak on the other. They are then broiled to perfection, sliced before being brought to the table, and served with their own sauce as well as a host of sides, which range from their version of German fried potatoes to creamed spinach. If you can still feel a pulse, go ahead and order dessert, if only to get a mound of their famous schlag made in the back. ONE STAR." INSTITUTION Peter Luger I78 Broadway Williamsburg peterluger.com Time-travel to old Bk, then hobnob with a martini and porterhouse. Is a loved one a carnivore? Don't miss the steaks at this award-winning Williamsburg classic—the meat is cured on-site and cooked to beyond-perfection. Located at the Brooklyn base of the Williamsburg Bridge, the restaurant drew fans for years before the surrounding area even dared dream the word "gentrification." The atmosphere is all business; Peter Luger's retains the patina of a very old-fashioned steak house and has been around since 1887 As for the steak? It's beyond delicious. It sizzles at the table and melts in your mouth, an experience that's hard to describe. This is the meal that may make all but the most ideologically committed vegetarians reconsider. Reservations are required; book well in advance."
