"Head 10 blocks south of New York’s Koreatown (see an itinerary of the neighborhood here), and you'll find Cote, a Korean steakhouse and one of the city’s best and buzziest restaurants. There’s no shortage of a la carte options, but the prix-fixe Butcher’s Feast is where diners should start. For $74 a person, you're treated to seasonal ban-chan, savory egg soufflé, two stews (including spicy kimchi stew), and the house selection of beef, including USDA Prime and Wagyu, cooked on the table with smokeless grills. The restaurant’s award-winning wine list features an impressive Champagne selection, and all by-the-glass pours come from Magnums, the large-format bottles that sommeliers say keeps wines younger and fresher"

"What is it? A sleek, marble-washed, chef-favorite Korean steakhouse from Michelin-starred restaurateur Simon Kim. Why go? Chef David Shim (M. Wells Steakhouse, Kristalbelli) puts a shine on standards like shrimp cocktail with gochujang-spiked tartar sauce, and studs the steak tartare with cubes of Asian pear. Bring your besties for the Butcher’s Feast, a flashy spread of seasonal banchan, two stews (spicy kimchi, fermented soy-tofu) and a daily-changing rotation of four steaks fired on gold-rimmed table grills. "Simon Kim’s ingeniously simple idea was to combine the high-roller qualities of a grade-A American steakhouse with the rough-and-tumble comforts of classic Korean barbecue, and it works so well, you wonder why no one ever thought of it before. The key is the execution — from chef David Shim’s classic Korean specialties (the egg soufflé, the cold “Somyun” noodles in summertime, the house-made kimchee and sauces), to the well-mixed soju cocktails and extravagantly well-chosen wine list, to the beef itself, which is smartly advertised on the menu, and aged more or less to perfection in the large meat locker downstairs. The result is a stylish hybrid of both famous, slightly clichéd genres, which feels less like a gimmicky exploitation of one, or the other, than a weirdly satisfying improvement on both. "

"Visited 10/19 and went 3/24. Delicious meats that cook in front of you. We ordered the Butcher’s Feast for everyone ($74/pax) which includes four cuts of meat, two soups, rice, egg soufflé, lettuce, vanilla soft serve ice cream, and banchan. Also order the Wagyu paella and the Cool modern design. One Michelin star. Reservations open 30 days in advance at 10AM EST and they are a must. High-end Korean barbecue restaurant Cote is the place to go if you’re craving some Michelin-starred meat. Every table has its own grill, where the meat is expertly cooked in front of your eyes. All cuts of beef served at Cote are top-quality: USDA Prime and Japanese A5 wagyu. Get the Butcher’s Feast, a selection of meats and Korean accompaniments, but you’re also going to want to try some of the à la carte dishes on the menu. The “Steak & Eggs” is a playful serving of filet mignon tartare and caviar, and the Korean “bacon” (thick strips of crispy pork belly) is not to be missed. Venture down into the basement and you will discover Undercote, one of our favorite cocktail bars in New York"
