"A trip to Leopardo is best experienced with a group of four or more — everything on chef Joshua Skenes’s menu is meant for sharing. Find dishes like a simple and effective presentation of oysters, buttery lobster cut into manageable pieces, and a refreshing platter of tomatoes with honey vinegar, basil, and stracciatella. The wild boar lasagna is hearty and unique, while Leopardo’s pizza is some of the best in the city: The sourdough crust is puffy and flavorful and prevails even with toppings like smoked wild king salmon. This pizza bests Spago’s OG salmon pie, lighter, somehow, with a fennel-orange vinaigrette, pickled vegetables, and roe. Though there wasn’t much room for dessert, the soft serve hit beautifully. The lightness and mild sweetness are only part of its appeal, since it’s served alongside Biscoff cookie sandwiches stuffed with sourdough and butter — as perplexing as they are delicious. It’s the kind of dessert that makes a hot summer night memorable."

"It’s no surprise that Joshua Skenes’s new restaurant, Leopardo, is one of the hottest spots in town right now. Alongside the pizza and small plates menu, Skenes also developed the cocktail options himself. Try the Califobrian, a rum, coconut, and stracciatella cocktail or the Kyoho frose with pisco and asti spumante. If we placed restaurants on a Dungeons and Dragons-style alignment chart, Leopardo would fall squarely under “chaotic good.” Look past the plates that all arrive at once, the cryptic menu descriptions, and the eye-rolling (but undeniably tasty) $160 breakfast waffle with caviar, and you’ll find this quirky seafood-heavy pizza spot from the original Angler chef serves some wildly delicious dishes. The crisp-skinned grilled whitefish in salty “Lord’s Water” broth is one, as is the spicy elk tartare with bone marrow and mint. Aside from a few puffy, cheese-crusted pizzas, the menu changes nightly. That doesn’t apply to the cocktail menu, thankfully—it’d be a tragedy if we couldn’t order their pickled green tomato martini after a long day of dealing with our landlord."
