"After a good breakfast, it's time to set off on the Provence wine trail and discover the diversity of the Alpilles terroir. Just 18 km from Baumanière is Château Romanin, on the northern slopes of the massif between Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and Eygalières. Founded by Jean-André Charial and Pierre Peyraud in 1987, the estate was one of the first to work biodynamically. Its cellar, dug into the cliff, is an architectural gem, a stone cathedral with cross-ribs and columns whose placement takes into account the roundness of the stars, the summer and winter solstices and the earth's magnetism. Sold to the Charmolüe family from Bordeaux in 2006, the estate produces Biodyvin and Demeter-certified red, white and rosé wines. The star of the Château is Le Cœur de Romanin, a red wine made from a variety of grape varieties (Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache) with a beautiful aromatic palette, both on the nose (dark chocolate, coffee, leather, cherry and black fruit) and on the palate, where aging in oak barrels and foudre brings richness and complexity. All in all, an unmissable tasting experience, as much for the eyes as for the palate."
