@pa_ola

"Attaboy bar is an intimate, semi-hidden craft cocktail bar located on the Lower East Side. The cocktails range from familiar standards to unique creations that are among the city’s best. To get in you’ll have to ring the buzzer at 134 Eldridge St (look for a window marked with M&H Tailors and Alterations) and pray they have space for you."

@daninasuti

"look for door marked "AB" and ring the buzzer. first come first serve. 6pm ideal. "

@sharker624

"No. 57 Worlds 100 Best Bars 2023 (12 in 2020) Now all grown up, Sam Ross and Michael McIlroy’s Attaboy would make its poppa proud. It rose from the ashes of Milk & Honey New York – the most important bar of the second golden era of cocktail culture – in 2013, taking the best bits of service and drinks execution but leaving the formality in the past. From day one the intention was a laid-back, everyman cocktail bar that just so happened to have been born in a celebrated site to pedigreed parents. Things here are chiselled back to the key elements: there is no cocktail menu, so tell the bartender how you’re feeling and the flavours you favour and they’ll capably take it from there. Though there are a couple of drinks you will want to try. The Penicillin, Ross’s scotch and honey creation, is to many the best scotch cocktail invented, while Paper Plane, a bourbon and bitters drink, is his other bone fide classic. Try them both – separately."

@nchavotier

"Hidden speak easy in LES, no drink menu you just tell them what you want and they make something for you"

@rufus.somerby

"Innovative, creative cocktails & classic concoctions mixed up in an industrial-style space. 88/100 NYMag"

@margaretannritter

"Put some respect on 134 Eldridge Street - this address has housed not one but two legendary New York speakeasies. The space was originally home to one of the original NYC neo-speakeasies, Milk & Honey before they moved uptown. After that, Attaboy was opened by two veteran M&H bartenders carrying on the tradition. These days, they’re dishing out killer cocktails with a laid-back, lively ambiance. There’s no drink menu here. Instead, you simply tell the bartender what you like, and they create a bespoke concoction just for you. Drinks come served in everything from classic coups to whimsical tiki mugs – even a shark!. Where: 134 Eldridge St, New York, NY 10002 How to get in: Once you’ve arrived, ring the doorbell or knock to enter. You’ll know you’re in the right spot when you see the M&H Alterations sign on the window! "

@marliesvandewoestijne

"Door labeled AB - just right of Tailors and Alterations - knock on door "
