"Belvedere Murgi Timone gives you one of the best panoramic views of Matera. It is located on top of the hill, sitting higher than the caves you hiked past. This was also the location of the crucifixion of Christ in the movie The Passion of Christ. There is a parking lot here, so if you have a car, it is possible to drive to this viewpoint, skipping the hike. PLANNING YOUR VISIT: The entire park is open 24 hours and free to visit. Allow about 2 to 3 hours to hike the trail, visit the caves, and walk to Belvedere Murgi Timone."
