"5 courses - 110 9 courses - 180"

"Michelin ⭐️ Natural wine Tasting menu 5 courses = $110 Full menu 9 courses = $180"

"Minimal, industrial and in harmony with the cool neighborhood, this is the kind of classic downtown spot that never goes out of style. Seating is either intimate or cramped, and the music is lively or loud, all depending on your mood. The menu features à la carte offerings in addition to a tasting menu that is just over $100. The cuisine here reflects the team's wide-ranging talents and contemporary flair. Take the custard-smooth, house-made tofu. It's brilliantly topped with a generous quenelle of caviar and slicked with a lip-smacking maple and mirin sauce. Then, a lobster tart delights with its crumbly shell, enriched with charred scallion ash, housing a poached lobster and scallop filling dressed with sauce Américaine."

"Minimal, industrial and in harmony with the cool neighborhood, this is the kind of classic downtown spot that draws trendy millennials from afar. Seating is either intimate or cramped, and the music is lively or loud, all depending on your mood. Enthusiastic servers add to the room’s energy.Offering eight courses (a cheese option is extra) for just under $100, their prix-fixe is renowned not just for its ambition but also for value. While the menu format may be fixed, dishes change frequently to reflect the young chefs’ wide-ranging talents and contemporary flair. This kitchen really plays it up, presenting textures and ingredients in unusual, but appealing ways. Case in point? The skate, perfectly creamy and set over a surprisingly savory and tart sauce of pickled blueberries, green olives and parsley. The heartbreakingly tender Wagyu topped with chamomile-flavored butter alongside porcini-stuffed cabbage is another winner. Dessert is serious here, as seen in the Meyer lemon, cashew, sweet milk parfait.It's likely you won't recognize any names on the wine list, hyper-focused on natural winemakers. Sip from a similar list and nibble on signature snacks next door at sibling Wildair. ONE STAR. mentioned in the Wallpaper guide; "tasting menus are increasingly prevalent — bow to the chefs' ingenuity as [these restaurants]""

"Michelin star restaurant. Great experimental menu, wine list ans cocktails 50$ + Make a reservation "

@julesclr

"Contra is the best tasting menu experience in NYC. Period. Attitude is relaxed. Food is stellar. Room is cool. The wine list goes deep. And if you don’t want the tasting menu, you can order a la carte. I’ve done birthdays and anniversaries here. It’s perfect for a celebration that doesn’t feel stuffy. And it needs to be said that Jeremiah Stone’s maple-caviar-tofu dish at Contra belongs in the NYC restaurant dish Hall of Fame. Ideal Meal: Dinner Price: $$$ Ideal Group Number: 2 Best Thing on the Menu: Tasting menu Also Great: Tofu, smoked eel, monkfish Drink Order: Deysi cocktail to start, wine by the bottle(s) after that Note: Make a reservation!"
