"All the praise that gets thrown at Sonoma’s El Molino Central (featured in the Michelin guide) is well-deserved, but the real thing can’t quite be captured; it has to be tried, ideally lounging in the restaurant’s lovely patio. The potato taco dorado, a rolled, fried tortilla covered in a creamy, acidic salsa, embodies the stunning simplicity of home cooking but executed with high-end finesse. The al pastor tacos ($19) come topped with thin slabs of pineapple, activating the pork’s tang, while the airy fish tacos ($12) are something like a trademark dish: Those beer-battered fish filets have a lovely fried shell protecting tender meat and are accentuated with creamy avocado salsa."

"This casual, counter-service spot serves high-quality Mexican food, including beer-battered fish tacos, pork tamales, anda Yucatan turkey lime soup. Picnic tables on the huge shaded patio make for a pleasant place to sip a cerveza and dunk house-made tortilla chips into the kicky pumpkin seed tomato habanero dip or made-to-order guacamole."

"Freshly Milled corn tortillas and chips. Tamale is a standout but everything is great. "

"The food at El Molino Central isn’t just some of the best Mexican in Sonoma - it’s some of the best in the whole Bay Area. The setup is simple: arrive at the ridiculously good-looking store, order at the counter (you can also place an order for “car hop service”), and grab a seat on the patio. El Molino is known for their tamales, but we’re partial to the enchiladas. As for the salsa - if you can stop yourself from filling up on chips and this sweet, not-at-all-watery stuff before the rest of the food arrives, you are stronger than we are."
