"Set just a few blocks from the waterfront in Bergen’s old stock exchange building, which dates back to 1862, the modern Bergen Børs opened in 2017 and quickly become the city’s best hotel. Prior to this opening, Bergen lacked a stylish property—most visitors would stay at large chains like the Radisson Blu or Clarion. But now, travelers visiting the second-largest city in Norway have a chic place to reside before venturing into the Norwegian fjords. The discreet, 127-room hotel occupies six floors and boasts accommodations that are modern and elegantly outfitted. Featuring a sleek aesthetic, the rooms have a muted color scheme of greys with pops of red and minimalist furnishings, and some offer beautiful views of the harbor and fish market. Travelers with children will enjoy the family rooms, while couples might want to book the suite that is located in the former stock exchange manager’s office and boasts high ceilings, beautiful moldings and hardwood floors. Bergen Børs offers a rich array of amenities, including a beautiful bar and gym and both a fine dining and a casual restaurant. BARE is the upscale option, which implements seasonal ingredients in its elegant Scandinavian cuisine. Patrons have the choice between a large and small set menu, which might include such dishes as langoustine from Algrøy with leek and rye or duck with watercress and cherries."
