Ce qu'en disent les utilisateurs

"Mattie’s at Green Pastures is a historic Southern restaurant and event venue set in a beautifully restored 1890s Victorian mansion in South Austin's Bouldin Creek neighborhood. It is famous for its "Old Austin" charm, towering live oak trees, and the resident flock of peacocks that has roamed the grounds since the 1960s. The Experience Historic Roots: Formerly known simply as Green Pastures, the property was reimagined and reopened as Mattie’s in 2017. It gained historical significance for being one of the first Austin restaurants to desegregate in 1946. Atmosphere: The venue offers a "relaxed elegance" with multiple indoor dining rooms, wrap-around porches, and expansive outdoor seating under 300-year-old oaks. The Peacocks: About 18 wild peacocks and peahens call the seven-acre estate home, often seen perched in trees or strolling past diners. The Inn: The property now includes The Inn at Green Pastures, a 63-room boutique hotel featuring a private pool and a new all-day cafe called Henry’s. Menu Highlights Mattie's serves upscale American fare with a distinct Southern influence. Signature Dish: Mattie's Fried Chicken, served with mashed potatoes and bacon-braised kale. Brunch Favorites: The Fried Chicken Eggs Benedict and Buttermilk Biscuits with local honey or seasonal butter are highly popular. Drinks: Known for the Milk Punch, a rich, vintage-inspired bourbon and brandy cocktail topped with nutmeg. Plan Your Visit Location: 811 W Live Oak St, Austin, TX 78704. Reservations: Highly recommended, especially for weekend brunch. Hours: Dinner: Wednesday – Saturday (5:00 PM – 10:00 PM). Brunch: Saturday & Sunday (11:00 AM – 2:00 PM). Closed Monday and Tuesday."

"Mattie’s is one of the most unforgettable Austin restaurants when it comes to brunch. With dozens of other offerings in town, Mattie’s is a true diamond among a sea of waffles, hashes, pancakes, you name it. The fried chicken eggs Benedict is literally one of the best breakfast dishes you will have in your entire life and the brioche French toast with candied pecans and fresh berries is pretty hard to beat. The beautiful grounds, mansion, and wrap around porch are the icing on the cake. If you’re brunching in Austin we cannot recommend Mattie’s more."
