Bottomless margarita brunch! £45pp You can judge any Mexican restaurant worth its salt from their guacamole, and Santo Remedio’s version didn’t disappoint, a perfectly-balanced treat matched neatly with a helping of blue corn tortilla chips. Of course, the main event truly began with the arrival of our first margarita. Truly excellent food menu, blessed with speciality ingredients direct from Mexico, along with top local produce. Owners Edson and Natalie have collated their favourite recipes from time spent in Oaxaca, Yucatan, and Mexico City, and the careful research shines through most deliciously. First up is a sharing plates menu, featuring the likes of prawn aguachile rojo, pork belly tacos, and flautas – a kind of vegan potato/avocado/salsa hybrid, served in crispy tortillas. For the main course, a choice of enchiladas, egg dishes, and a Mexican-inspired burger is available, but we went straight for the ‘torta ahogada’ and never looked back. Loosely translating as ‘drowned sandwich’, this open sandwich is filled with beautiful pork belly and then drowned in a richly-spiced tomato sauce – and frankly, we’d like all of our sandwiches drowned from now on, please and thank you. "
