"Simple Italian from Chris Kostow (Meadowood) Open since 2012, Ciccio returned last year after a temporary closure with Martina and Christopher If you can’t leave the area without a Michelin-approved experience, book a family dinner at Ciccio in Yountville. Housed inside a former Italian market, Ciccio serves up casual plates of pasta, fresh ricotta made daily, and a meatball-stuffed chard that is worth the visit alone. Try one of their excellent takes on the Negroni and order Italian cream sodas for the kids. Kostow (of Meadowood fame) leading the kitchen. The look of the Italian restaurant was mostly preserved so as not to disrupt the existing fan base; tiles run along the ceiling and retro art hangs on the walls. The menu is still approachable: pizzas are wood-fired, pastas are handmade and there’s a general emphasis on comfort. The shapes might shift but the cacio e pepe ($28) — currently made with gnudi — stands out for its burnt peppercorn. Try the pork chop milanese ($42), a hulking fried cut topped with slightly bitter, well-dressed chicories. Also featured on Top Napa Valley Restaurants."
