"The coffee is great but that's not the point. Rather, Distrikt Coffee sets itself apart with elaborate all-day breakfast. The buttermilk pancakes, avocado on toast, poached eggs and inevitable superfood bowls are all so pretty that they could have jumped right out of a lifestyle photo shoot, especially when set against the exposed-brick-wall backdrop. British-born former science teacher Sophie Hardy and her German partner Hannes Haake opened the space in 2014 in a prewar building. "We source our beans from Berlin but also London, New York, Sweden and Denmark and serve food with a healthy slant, plus home favourites, " says Hardy. Quiet on weekday afternoons"

It is my number one go to spot for brunch in Berlin, even though I have to wait in line every time I come here. Distrikt opened in December 2014 and is a project by Sophie Hardy and Hannes Haake. Their choice of coffee is Fjord, a local roastery run by Silo and Father Carpenter."

"Sophie and her boyfriend Hannes had the same problem with third wave coffee; they would end up crammed in a tiny shop for ten minutes only to rush out of the door with a take-away cup. Their solution to the constant hustle? Distrikt Coffee, which they opened together in December 2014.
