Rule of Thirds : Restaurant japonais & brunch à Brooklyn

"Rule of Thirds offered a phenomenal dining experience. Every single dish displayed the absolute love of food! Our favorite dishes (in no particular order) were the chicken katsu sando, the hottokeki, ajitama egg salad, and the roasted sunshokes. The service was fantastic as well, every staff member was incredibly attentive. And our server, Priscilla, was wonderful and we appreciated her knowledge of the menu when we were selecting our dishes. Overall, an 11 out of 10 experience. Definitely need to return next time we visit Brooklyn for all the new dishes for upcoming seasons."

"residential Greenpoint has lots of surprises on its Japanese-leaning menu, including duck hearts, a hot honey gem salad, and lamb tongue, but my favorite was a hamachi collar — usually a byproduct of sushi bars — nicely charred and furnished with multiple zippy condiments, including yuzu kosho, made with fermented chiles. 171 Banker Street, near Norman Avenue, Greenpoint"

"Michelin Guide mention 2024 Although it is flanked by warehouses, the interior design of this hip, 85-seat restaurant features a neat, sleek, Scandinavian aesthetic.A meal here is delightfully untethered by tradition. The cuisine is essentially Japanese, albeit with a perceptible dash of urbanity. The simple, shareable plates are most cherished and include vegan items, like house-made chilled silken tofu with soy milk, okra, ginger and black garlic. Almond miso soup is velvety, while hamachi collar is brushed with miso butter and grilled until slightly blistered for a particularly satisfying dish. Steamed Japanese cheesecake is light and fluffy, but it's the passion fruit puree on top that hits all the right notes."

"opened in 2020 by two former Okonomi chefs. The weekend-only brunch menu includes a hot-honey-yuzu salad and a stunning soufflé pancake, soft enough to eat with a spoon, and a teishoku ($28) that suggests the student has become the master."
