"1 Michelin star 2024 Dua Lipa’s pick ⚠️ Be ready for absurd queue Founded by the late LeAnn Mueller and now run by her wife, Ali Clem, la Barbecue's massive, custom-built pit in the backyard is the rarified workshop in which meaty miracles are realized. Inside, it's a simple space enlivened with bright colors and a disarming playlist with Tammy Wynette and Dolly Parton. During peak hours, you can expect a substantial wait, but your patience will be rewarded with a first taste of the brisket as you reach the counter. You will marvel at the sublimely succulent, flavorful beef, but don't overlook the array of equally tempting offerings like house-made sausages, and pork or beef ribs. The team likes to keep things spicy, as in the chipotle cole slaw or fresh kimchi. Don't miss the mac and cheese."

"“Award-winning Franklin Barbecue was once touted as the best barbecue in town, and waiting for hours on a fold-out chair in front of the restaurant for a taste of that fatty brisket and pulled pork is as much an experience itself as the eating part. But Aaron Franklin’s got some wrestling to do if he wants to keep a hold on to that coveted barbecue crown. La Barbecue, helmed by LeAnn Mueller and Alison Clem, has fast become Austin’s favorite smokehouse since the duo opened shop in 2011. Known for locally raised meats that beautifully melt in your mouth either standalone or sandwiched in a bun, La Barbecue is snatching patrons from Franklin’s line, and customers are staying on their patio thanks to the accompanying selection of beers, sake and Aperol Spritz. Try both spots and decide for yourself which is best.” "

"Infatuation- La Barbecue is where you’ll find some of the best brisket, ribs, and sausage in Austin - with shorter lines than Franklin Barbecue. It has indoor seating, and importantly during the summer, air conditioning. You can skip the line by pre-ordering three or more days in advance."

"2021 Another recommended bbq in Austin. Evidently if you go early in the day there is a line around the building, if you go later in the day they will be out of some meat items. The guy who lives there wanted to get pork ribs, but settled for a turkey sandwich as they went after the line dissipated."

" La Barbecue has the best Texas bbq in Austin (aside from Franklin Barbecue). Get brisket, pork ribs, and specifically the beef ribs, they’re the size of a dinosaur bone. Tip: Go inside and order a beer to drink while you wait in line at La Barbecue."

"THIS IS THE BEST BARBECUE IN THE CITY AND NO ONE CAN CHANGE MY MIND. Usually you have to queue for max 30 mins, but better than queuing before sunrise. Come early and you beat the queue anyways. Have been 5+ times and every time, I’m floored "
