"The Cooney family and their faithful tribe of fryers have been frying in beef dripping on Aldeburgh High Street since 1967. There are two locations, one at either end of the high street and you’ll get the same shatteringly crispy battered fish whether you choose Aldeburgh Fish & Chips on the corner or the Golden Galleon a little way along. There’s a tiny diner space above the latter location, but Aldeburgh’s windswept sand and shingle beach is an unbeatable picnic spot — on our last trip, a seal bobbed along to say hello. The opening hours at both are a little idiosyncratic, so check online before you visit. Fish suppers from £11 (aldeburghfishandchips.co.uk)"

"10th August 2020 4.5 out of 5 - fish and chips in paper eaten with fingers on the wall at the edge of the beach. Chips were a proper chip shop mix of crispy and squidgy. Fish was soft and moist, beautiful! "
