"Arguably the best overall Vietnamese restaurant in SGV, Golden Deli’s crispy, crunchy cha gio are always in demand, but everything from the bun to the pho are fantastic too. Expect lengthy waits during prime hours."

"great place. I can get just the egg rolls and be happy here."

"Our Favorite Dishes: Eggrolls, Broken Rice Plate (with Beef), Pho For starters, Golden Deli is not a deli. It’s a Vietnamese restaurant that’s home to one of the strongest lunch rushes in the area. And though you’ll probably have to stand on the sidewalk outside for a half hour, know that the food inside is worth it. Everyone is eating the beef pho, and while it’s fantastic, we get the #89b broken rice plate: shrimp paste, grilled beef, and two egg rolls. And to be clear, you really need those egg rolls. the pork- and mushroom-stuffed cha gio served blistered-golden with fish sauce, fresh herbs, and lettuce. Pho Tai Nam Gan The pho at Golden Deli achieves an immaculate balance in its translucent broth, right at the intersection of fatty, sour, sweet, and - most definitely - salty. There’s an oily shimmer on top of the broth that lets you know you’re in for some excellent soup, and while the noodles are sometimes a bit gummy, the beef brisket, ribeye, and tendon are tender and extremely flavorful, and more than make up for the soft noodles. Make sure to use the sliced lime and housemade chili sauce on the side to deepen the flavors. "

"Find Southern-style Vietnamese food at this perpetually busy, efficiently run, and solid-as-can-be restaurant. Come for the blistered cha gio stuffed with ground pork and woodear mushrooms, and served with herbs and greens for garnishing and wrapping, respectively. Then, settle in for a bowl of pho (rare beef, brisket, and tripe are the holy trinity of beef noodle soup), a platter of broken rice topped with a sunny side egg (the one with grilled pork, shredded pork, and steamed pork loaf won’t disappoint), or a bowl of cool vermicelli noodles. The nuoc cham (fish sauce vinaigrette) here is top notch, so spoon it on liberally or better yet, just dump the whole thing onto rice or noodles."
