Fuoripista

"Fuori Pista literally translates to off-piste, or off the slopes. In fact, it is a little “off-piste” from the rest of Courmayeur and is located closer to the base of the mountain away from the main town. Fuori Pista is the pizzeria that is part of the larger Lo Sciatore (The Skier) establishment. It is known for its pizzas made from organic flour, but its local dishes are impeccable as well. I ordered a traditional Valle D’Aosta dish, Carbonada Valdostana con polenta, polenta with white wine and a more intricate style of beef stew. Patrick ordered Pappardelle fresche integrali al ragu di cinghiale, or home-made, whole wheat pappardelle with wild boar sauce. He had never had boar before so was eager to taste this local delicacy! Both were of course, extremely satisfying. For dessert we ordered panna cotta with raspberry sauce, the berry on top of our meal. "
