"It can be hard to find a great whiskey selection at bars in Toronto. Somehow, The Gift Shop defies expectations with an insane range of hard to find bourbons and Scotch, including nearly every special release of Ardbeg. The bar itself is very small. The bartender only gives his name as H. He’s a crusty British man with a checkered past - or so he told me. The cocktails here are nuts - and honestly a bit much. They tend to be on the bright, showy, and all out crazy side. The menu is a comic book and the first two pages are a lengthy diatribe on the virtues (and defense of) blended Scotch. Oh, and did I mention that the bar is located in the back of a barbershop? This place is an experience."
