A futuristic glass cube overlooking the harbour, LuMi has been a darling of Sydney’s well-heeled set since it opened in 2014. Tasting menus of classical Italian and French dishes are heavy on technique but elevated by Asian ingredients and a lightness of touch that’s distinctly Japanese. Think hapuka (grouper) swaddled in daikon (winter radish), spanner crab with macadamia nuts and well-balanced white chocolate and sudachi (a Japanese green citrus fruit) mousse served in an egg shell.
