"Australian artisanal coffee powerhouse Though the brand originated Down Under, Toby's has been roasting beans and serving great coffee in Brooklyn for some time, and they have several well-loved cafes across Manhattan, but this lovely spot in Long Island City is hard to beat in terms atmosphere and overall presentation. Toby's LIC boasts a large, light-filled room, with super-high ceilings, lots of natural wood and brick, plus a huge shady back courtyard. And along with their espresso and coffee options, they offer some enjoyable food options, if you want something quick to grab and go, or a more relaxing sit-down meal in this great space. Baked goods from Balthazar, Sans, Good Batch, and Ovenly, plus a menu of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, toasts, salads and other assorted delicacies made onsite by Maman, the acclaimed Manhattan bistro. The Maman Breakfast Roll, a fried egg on focaccia with avocado, roasted tomato and bacon jam is as good as it sounds, only made more delicious washed down with one of Toby's fine espresso or pour-over creations!"
