"Thereâs no denying the high-dollar luster of this jewel box near Alamo Square, where every four guests are guaranteed a personal chef to guide them through course after course of wonderous delicacies (the restaurant seats just 16 at a time). Ju-Ni sources most of their fish from the Toyosu Market in Japan. The 14-course omakase menu will set you back $198, but we canât think of a more delicious way to blow through some cash."

" Very good omakase. This isnât a fair review because I was acting like a shithead all dinner (donât book nice restaurants on Santa con). They had just lost their star and I felt a nervous energy in the kitchen. Food was seemingly excellent. 8.4/10"

"Phil Deutch The word "jĆ«niâ is Japanese for âtwelve,â which also happens to be the number of seats available in this petite, omakase-only spot, housed just off the busy Divisadero corridor. Theyâre a young, lively crew, often led by Chef/owner Geoffrey Lee, and theyâve designed this space with a crowd of similarly young, moneyed professionals in mind. A meal may begin with a tasting of seasonal vegetablesâthink tomatoes over edamame hummusâbefore proceeding to an array of nigiri. Standouts include sakura masu with a salt-cured cherry blossom leaf, buttery Hokkaido scallop and the signature ikuraâcured, then finished with a grating of velvety frozen monkfish liver. The meal finishes with a surprisingly gentle send-off: sweet, tender mochi dabbed with adzuki bean paste."
