"Another amazing restaurant - you HAVE to get the garlic shrimp and apparently the other shrimp on the menu is amazing too. It was SO GOOD it comes out sizzling and all the reviews I read about it were right it lives up to the hype. The croquettes were great too. The service and energy here is great and I love both the inside and the terrace, you can tell it’s been around for such a long time and they staff seem proud of it. I liked it here a lot. The restaurant has their own wines too and we got the special edition one which was actually pretty nice. It explains on the back of the bottle the taste profile too which is fun. Such a good location too. Maybe a bit touristy but I Love it here and will be back "

This now-legendary garlic shrimp tapa was born out of necessity in the years following the Spanish Civil War, when Madrid was facing a massive bread shortage. (Not ideal for this spot, which originally opened as a sandwich bar.)
