"FR Lady Carole Bamford est une fermière. Elle est blonde, diaphane, et roule… en Rolls Silver Shadow ! Lorsqu’elle a commencé à militer pour le bio, à l’image de son voisin du Gloucestershire, le prince Charles, on s’est un peu moqué. Elle a pourtant fini par faire du blé de ses moulins et du lait de ses vaches frisonnes une vraie marque. On se bat aujourd’hui pour réserver dans ses épiceries-concept-stores où l’on déjeune 100 % bio et éthique, avant de remplir son panier de produits préparés sur d’immenses comptoirs de marbre blanc, puis de craquer pour les accessoires de cuisine, les nappes en lin et les paniers d’osier. Le charme discret de la noblesse… EN Lady Carole Bamford is not really your typical farmer: she’s a delicate-looking blonde who drives… a Rolls Silver Shadow! When she started campaigning for organic options, just like her Gloucestershire neighbour, Prince Charles, we didn’t really take her too seriously. Yet, she’s managed to make the wheat from her mills and milk from her Friesian cows a real brand. Today, you have to fight to get a reservation in one of her grocery-concept stores where you can eat 100% organic and ethical before filling your basket with products prepared on huge white marble counters and stocking up on her kitchen accessories, linen tablecloths and wicker baskets. We like to think of it as the discreet charm of nobility…"

"Daylesford’s original outpost is in the Cotswolds, of course – but this urban version has the same fiercely strong farm to fork ethos focusing on organic, seasonal and delicious food. Upstairs, an open kitchen serves all-day menus of squash and courgette tarts, bee pollen and kale salads and a vegan bolognese, while the deli and bakery downstairs sell heaps of treats to take home including freshly baked loaves and artisan cheeses from the creamery at the Cotswolds farm. It’s usually filled with yummy mummies, catching up over a matcha latte at one of the stripped-wood communal tables."
