Amaya's Fresh Mexican Grill

"One of the restaurants I have been craving since our search for Michigan’s Best Mexican Restaurant in 2018 is Amaya’s Fresh Mexican Grill. The Amaya brothers make it a “must” destination if you want authentic Mexican cuisine that pushes the boundaries of what you consider “authentic.” Chef/owner Faustino Amaya and front of the house manager/owner Marc Amaya bring all of their influences from Texas and Mexico to come up with this diverse menu. Faustino was trained in Dallas where the family moved after years in the Monroe area. Originally, they opened in Toledo, but moved to Monroe about six years ago to open their fresh grill menu. Produce and meats are sourced locally. The salsas are made fresh each day, and menu items like burritos, tacos and even burgers (try the Chorizo Burger with a 50-50 blend of beef and chorizo sausage) are a notch above greatness. Oh, and they have their own pastry chef who makes the best desserts. Don’t leave without ordering the flan."
