"Il Coccodrillo è un vivace ristorante italiano situato nel cuore di Berlino, precisamente al numero 9 di Veteranenstraße, nel quartiere Mitte, all’interno del pittoresco Weinbergspark. Inaugurato nel 2022, il locale è diventato rapidamente un punto di riferimento per chi cerca un’esperienza culinaria italiana autentica in un ambiente dal design audace e retrò.  L’interno del Ristorante Coccodrillo è un omaggio all’Italia degli anni ‘60, con influenze dello stile “Space Age”. Le pareti rosse, i divani in velluto e i poster vintage di Fiorucci creano un’atmosfera seducente e accogliente. La terrazza rotonda, con grandi ombrelloni, offre una vista incantevole sul parco, rendendola ideale per godersi il “Dolce Vita” italiano. La cucina del Coccodrillo propone piatti italiani autentici, con un’attenzione particolare alla qualità degli ingredienti, molti dei quali importati direttamente dall’Italia. Il menu include pizze napoletane cotte nel forno a legna, pasta fresca fatta in casa e una selezione di piatti vegetariani che costituiscono circa il 70% dell’offerta.  Da non perdere: LADY BRIGITTE (Bruschetta con pomodori confit, mozzarella di bufala e mix di pesto di basilico e ricotta), TRUFFLE LOVE FOR 2 (Le speciali mafaldine con salsa cremosa al mascarpone e tartufo, spuma di Parmigiano Reggiano, tartufo nero fresco, servite in una forma di pecorino, per 2), TAGLIATA DI MANZO (Tagliata stagionata a secco con salsa verde, a parte: patatine croccanti) e INSALATA DI ASPARAGI (Insalata di stagione con asparagi grigliati, fave, piselli, yogurt e condimento di salsa gribiche, guarnita con formaggio strachitunt, nocciole e crostini di pane)."

"Big Mamma restaurant Coccodrillo is Big Mamma group’s Berlin branch and no less spectacular than its London associates; Gloria, Ave Mario and Circolo Popolare. Placed in the centre of Weinbergspark, the restaurant stands out like a fun fair amidst the grass and greenery. A battalion of tomato red sun shades mark out its large outdoor seating area, and a neon sign above the door invites us in. The interiors are just as arresting. This is maximal design at its best; delivered by Big Mamma’s in-house design agency Studio Kiki. Red lacquer gleams from floor to ceiling, while neons, mirrors and sculptural lights set the place shimmering. The playful approach verges on naughty – the toilet doors are one-way mirrors so that you can see the rest of the bathroom from inside the cubicle. But interiors like these would mean nothing without a great atmosphere. The music is great and all the staff are Italian, so it’s guaranteed to feel like a party. The menu is designed around popular Italian dishes, with one or two surprises, and a fun selection of wine, beer and cocktails. But it has to be said, the food is inconsistent. Some dishes were totally delicious and others underwhelming. We adored the starters; charcuterie and signature giant burrata, served with delicious fresh tomato sauce to mop up with bread served hot from the kitchen. The pasta course was significantly less inspiring. But pudding – a fruit salad of strawberries, tomatoes, basil and crunchy fried coconut on a bed of vegan whipped cream – was stunning. What we can be sure of, though, is that Coccodrillo is an experience worth having."
