"This Colorado roadtrip is one of the most beautiful in the USA... Save for future reference and share with someone who needs to do this. This trip would ideally be done over the course of a week or more, and requires about 15 hours of drive time. Itinerary: Start in Denver Explore Silverthorne and watch the sunset off highway 9 Take a boat out on Piney Lake and have lunch near Gore Creek in Vail Hike up to Hanging Lake (permits required, plan in advance to ensure it's open if you're going this summer), or explore Glenwood Springs Head South to experience the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, and make sure to visit Painted Wall at sunset. This is a Dark sky reserve, so if you camp in the park, the stars should be incredible Hike around 📍Crested Butte's wildflower trails Go to Great Sand Dunes National Park (one of the only dog friendly parks in the USA!) Avoid mid day as it gets very hot Make your way to Salida/Buena Vista, where the collegiate peaks are sure to impress Drive through Garden of the Gods and have lunch at one of the many pullover sites https://www.instagram.com/reel/C--tuACRKuQ/?igsh=ZzdkZHFxNmhrb29m"

"Taking the skilift up to Mount Crested Butte and hiking up the 1.5 miles trek to the top will reveal the highest point at which I have stood alone: 12,070ft."
