"Vrai lieu = westberlin juste à côté de l’église/ galerie. Petit café super mimi, le café était très bon et la tarte aux pommes bonne"

" From Gothic-style cathedrals to humble village chapels, Berlin is home to quite a few churches, but very few are built entirely of concrete. St. Agnes Church in Kreuzberg is one such exception. Built between 1964 and 1967 by architect Werner Düttmann, it served as a Catholic place of worship until 2004, when an Evangelical ‘Freikirche’ moved in. Since 2015, St. Agnes has been home to the contemporary art of the König Gallery. "

"While Agnes Cafeteria is structurally connected to the infamous concrete monolith and next to the Johann König gallery, Alexander Wöckel and Jutta Goller’s new cafeteria is no side-note to everything that occupies the abandoned church. Its minimalistic aesthetic works with the monument and garden, challenging notions of interior vs. exterior; what stands out is food and drink: fresh, colorful, organic, nearly trash-free, simply delicious. Choosing between what’s offered is almost impossible though there aren’t numerous options; the cafeteria selects few items a day, honoring properties of each ingredient. With the season onset, sip on orange-ginger-chili lemonade or perhaps organic fare-trade cappuccino. Gobble down a chilled Waldorf, or “Popeye” spinach salad, later try the daily alternating special — I was lucky enough for asparagus quiche — or a Panini sandwich on a deli platter reminiscent of mother’s best meals. The cafeteria is in its impressive beginning so keep your eyes, ears and appetite open for aperitifs, paper lunch boxes, supper clubs, gallery event specials, and a menu of ever-evolving yumminess. - See more at: http://ceecee.cc/en/category/cafes/page/5/#sthash.4gBoOSEY.dpuf"
