""It’s hard to imagine Portland’s culinary scene looking anything like it does today without Naomi Pomeroy’s Beast. Though it utilizes seasonal, local ingredients for its dishes, they smack of French aesthetics, with foie gras, duck confit, and other delicacies usually paired with vin française. The whole event, served in a humble building with exposed ceiling slats, has the feel of a dinner party among friends, and while pricey, it’s a memorable, singular experience." -Eater French "Beast is the Killingsworth fine dining restaurant by Naomi Pomeroy, the 2014 James Beard Best Chef Northwest recipient, and like many Portland greats, it shows how a love for DIY everything can transform a tiny dining room into something stunning — in this case, culinary theater. Staff greet diners with sparkling wine, followed by creative but refined dishes like uni-topped potato chips, the most wild-tasting morels, and homey pastas. Beast's backbone remains unchanged, and it still serves that iconic foie gras bon bon and some of the prettiest platings in the city." - Eater Essentials"

"This teensy restaurant in Concordia is so cozy that it feels more than a friend's dining room than an award-winning restaurant—though there's no question once your food arrives. Chef Naomi Pomeroy grew up in the area, but with a mother and grandmother who lived in France and New Orleans, her cooking style skews decidedly French. She’s also a James Beard Award-winner (she was a finalist three times), and we’ve yet to try a dish on her prix-fixe menu that wasn't worth writing home about."
