It started its life as a theater, then became a cinema, before ultimately being filled with books to become a bookstore. The incredible frescoes on the ceiling, ornate stage curtains, high-class theater boxes and stage from 1919 are all still there in all their artistic glory, making this bookstore seem like something out of one of the storybooks it holds inside."

Installé au coeur d'un ancien théâtre mythique de la ville, El Grand Splendid, parfaitement réaménagée, elle offre une collection sans fin, stockée sur plusieurs étages. Des livres en français sont disponibles. Le principe est toujours le même : des rayons aérés, un café où sont organisés concerts et conférences, des tables pour lire et où l'on peut s'installer sans limite de temps, et des petits salons de lecture aménagés dans les anciennes loges du cinéma."
