"What’s the difference between a great waiter and a sleezy salesman? At angler, it’s clear that they tread the line very closely. Our waiter was great (told us he was the manager of the whole restaurant). Attentive, great service, and the perfect amount of chat. However, the man somehow managed to get us to verbally agree to the black truffle add-on. I don’t remember signing up for it but there he was spooning large flakes onto our sea bass and scallops. This did not make the bill a pretty picture. Did the bottle of Sancerre cause me to forget my signing up for it? Or did he prey upon the naive drunken youth. Not sure, either way leaving the place I had a bitter taste in my mouth (and it sure wasn’t the delectable fish). 7.9/10"
