"Auberge was born in Napa Valley, but the brand’s expertise in luxe rural living is adaptable all over the world — from the California wine country to New York’s Hudson Valley. Wildflower Farms, Auberge Resorts Collection finds itself in Gardiner, on a working farm that’s more properly secluded than many Hudson Valley resorts. Alongside its 65 luxurious and surprisingly stylish cabins are the expansive Thistle Spa, and outdoor spaces encompass the whole of this working farm — whose produce, not incidentally, provides some of the ingredients for Clay, a restaurant singularly focused on Hudson Valley flavors and a wine selection that’s truly global."

"New from 2023 | Rooms from $1,250 Step onto this picturesque Auberge Resorts Collection campus, in a meadow in the shadow of New York’s iconic Shawangunk Mountains, and you feel almost as if you’ve entered the world of a Hudson River School painting. It’s that pretty. And for all its comforts, which are considerable—the instant it opened its doors last fall, it became the premier luxury escape in the Catskills—the hotel rightly recognizes that nature is its greatest amenity. Located on a 140-acre site that was once a tree nursery and a dairy farm, Wildflower leans into the region’s agricultural heritage with a working farm that supplies ingredients for cooking classes, the menu of the hotel’s progressive New American restaurant, Clay, and many of the treatments at the excellent spa, Thistle. Guests can swing by to tour the crops, feed the animals, and collect eggs from the chicken coop (to take home or pass along to the kitchen staff at Clay to prepare for breakfast). Just 4 percent of the property has been developed, leaving an extensive network of forest trails for visitors to explore on their own or to visit with a guide for ramp planting or forest-bathing experiences. And it’s easy to continue drinking in the beauty of the place from the 65 rooms, all freestanding cabins, cottages, and suites. In addition to offering fireplaces, well-curated minibars, and a stylishly warm, natural design aesthetic, they have extensive private terraces and floor-to-ceiling windows framing a view of woods, meadows, or mountains."

"CNT 2023 UPSTATE NEW YORK USA THE BUZZ A very modern brand of deep-nature retreat continues to sprout up along New York's Hudson Valley. Last summer, it was the minimalist glass pods and onsen-style hot tubs of Piaule Catskill, and this year a new crop of exciting stays has followed: including the Airstreams, cabins and airy barns of AutoCamp Catskills, west of Saugerties, and the more rustic-plush Wildflower Farms near sleepy Gardiner, the latest offering from Auberge Resorts Collection. THE LOCAL TAKE Jacob Tschetter, who works for the Tuthilltown Spirits Distillery in Gardiner, next to Wildflower Farms, says: " originally came to the area to rock-climb in the Shawangunk Mountains. I missed being here so much when I moved back to the city, and I feel so lucky that the Tuthilltown team have brought me back to work surrounded by the mountains." THE STAY There's been real excitement about Auberge pitching up just 90 minutes from Manhattan this October, on a bucolic 140-acre plot with views of the river and Shawangunk Ridge. There are smart mid-century nods in the 65 high-design wooden cabins, cottages and suites, but the overriding sense is of communing with nature: orchards, heirloom gardens and a farm-education centre with classes on botanical baking and pressed-flower pottery.
