Dia:Beacon - Musée d'art contemporain à Beacon, New York
Dia:Beacon est un musée d'art contemporain situé dans une ancienne usine à Beacon, au nord de New York. Il abrite une collection permanente d'œuvres monumentales et de sculptures réalisées par des artistes renommés tels que Richard Serra, Dan Flavin, Louise Bourgeois et Gerhard Richter. Des expositions temporaires de sculptures et d'installations à grande échelle sont également proposées. Les visites guidées gratuites sont disponibles les week-ends à 12h30 et 14h. Many of these are still in the public realm in New York, from Max Neuhaus' 1977 below-ground sonic piece Times Square to Walter de Maria's 1979 The Broken Kilometer (393 W Broadway). It also opened the Dan Flavin Art Institute (T 631 537 1476) in Bridgehampton. Dia's main galleries are in Chelsea (T212 989 5566) and this loft in a former box factory on the banks of the Hudson, which hosts a collection that dates back to the 1960s, including work by Michael Heizer, Richard Serra and Fred Sandback - Untitled (from Ten Vertical Constructions) (above).
