"Luang Namtha is known for being the largest city in the northwest part of Laos and is famous for being a stop off point for anyone traveling between Laos and neighboring China. This is also a top spot for anyone who likes to go trekking as you can get out into the surrounding mountains and visit the villages of the ethnic hill tribes in Laos. If you donât want to trek then you can also rent a bicycle or a motorcycle and then spend the day scooting around the various villages and checking out the gorgeous waterfalls in this part of the country. In the town of Luang Namtha itself you can spend your time visiting bustling local markets, sampling the street food and indulging in the herbal saunas here."

"Vientiane Province, just north of Vientiane Capital is also well-known for karst mountains and caves. In Luang Namthaâs Vieng Phoukha, visit easily accessible but little known Phou Prasat or Tham Kao Rao Cave. The most famous caves in Laos are way up in Houaphanh Provinceâs Vieng Xay district. These fortress-like caves served as a base for the Lao Revolutionary Forces during the Second Indochina War. Other notable caves are the Tham Pa Cave in Xieng Khouang Province and Tham Ting Cave in Luang Prabang Province"

"SituĂ© au nord de la ville, le musĂ©e provincial de Luang Namtha expose une collection d'objets relative Ă l'histoire et la culture : vĂȘtements traditionnels de diffĂ©rentes minoritĂ©s ethniques, objets religieux, outils, tambours khamu, piĂšces de monnaie, armes antiques... Jolie petite collection de statues de Bouddha Ă©galement. Une partie du musĂ©e est dĂ©diĂ©e Ă la rĂ©volution laotienne. Les photos sont interdites dans l'enceinte du musĂ©e. IntĂ©ressant pour en apprendre un peu sur la province mais ne mĂ©rite qu'une rapide visite (compter un peu moins de 30 minutes)."
