"Enjoy Edo atmosphere and loach at the historic restaurant over 200 years Dojou(Loach) Restaurant, established at 1801 in Edo period here in Asakusa, has been loved for over 200 years.The building is the typical Japanese architectural style in Edo period and shows overwhelming spectacle to people passing by. Dojou has been so familiar as an ingredient from Edo period. This restaurant only serve the selected fine quality Dojou. The specialty is the Dojou hot pot, which is served with the traditional way. Dojou are set on a iron pod and broiled by a charcoal fire. You add flavored soup and put on plenty of sliced long onion and then eat them. You may taste both Dojou hot pot and Kabayaki, broiled by a soy-based source in a set menu ¥4,350. Highly recommended menu is Sumidagawa, ¥7,350, which consists of Dojou hot pod, loach-boiled-in-pan dish, Kabayaki, fried loach and Dojou miso-soup, 12 dishes in total. There is the Tatami room in the first floor, which atmosphere has not been changed from Edo period and a various size of on the second floor, then, dining room in the first basement. Black and white photos displayed on the wall, which shows a lot of scenes since this restaurant has been established. You may think about its history."

"200年以上続く歴史のある店で 江戸情緒とどじょう料理を味わう。 1801年、江戸時代に創業し200年以上もここ浅草の地で愛され続けてきたどじょう料理店。建物は江戸時代の代表的な日本家屋の建築様式である商家造り、出し桁造りを用いて造られており、道行く人を圧倒する迫力だ。 江戸時代から親しまれていた食材のどじょう、この店では厳選した優れた品質のもののみを使用。おすすめ料理のどぜう鍋は、鉄鍋に丁寧に並べられたどじょうを、炭火の上で割り下を注ぎながら、たっぷりとネギを乗せていただくのが昔ながらの味わい方だ。4,350円〜の定食ではどぜう鍋や蒲焼などをコース仕立てで楽しめる。一押しの隅田川定食7,350円では、どぜう鍋、柳川、蒲焼、どぜう唐揚げ、どぜう汁など12品がたっぷりといただける。 店内1階には江戸時代から変わらぬ活気のある入れ込み座敷、2階には大小の個室、地下1階にはテーブル席を用意。店内の壁には創業以来の様子が収められた白黒写真が飾られており、この店が歩んできた歴史に思いを馳せることができる。"

"Cadre chaleureux de maison japonaise, serveuse en yukata, tatami, coussins et tables basses (on enlève ses chaussures). Découvrez la grande spécialité : le dozu jiru, une délicieuse fondue de loches (de la famille des anguilles), cuites au charbon de bois dans une petite marmite individuelle. Accompagné d'une omelette à nouveau aux loches, de riz et poireaux émincés, de petits oignons frais et d'une soupe. Bien entendu, possibilité de commander à la carte d'autres bons plats maison : le dozu nabe, le yanagawa, le sashimi de carpe... Un sympathique et délicieux petit rituel culinaire. Une institution locale."

"Menu 3 600 ¥. A la carte de 300 à 1 500 ¥. Dîner de 2 000 à 7 000 ¥. Ouvert de 11h à 21h. Spécialité de dojō, la petite cousinesine de l’anguille que l’on prépare de la même façon. Demandez le yanagawa-nabe, où les dojō sont cuits avec de l’œuf dans un récipient spécial. Mais la pièce maîtresse du restaurant est son jigokunabe (casserole de l’enfer) : on place les anguilles vivantes dans un récipient et on y ajoute du tofu ; on recouvre ensuite le tout d’eau bouillante, ce qui fait que les petites anguilles courent se réfugier à l’intérieur du tōfu, qui se referme sur elles en les cuisant vivantes. Comme quoi, on n’est jamais déçu par l’inventivité humaine… Le resto est très pittoresque, par ailleurs, et facilement reconnaissable de l’extérieur à ses lanternes et bancs sur le trottoir, ainsi que de la paille."
