"Cuantos is fantastic. If someone says that their favorite tacos are from Cuantos, you know they know their stuff. The tacos themselves are smaller in size and served on nixtamalized tortillas. I recommend trying one of each to experience all the flavors. However, I must admit that some of the fillings can taste similar. Regardless, it's one of my top spots to visit in Austin. Cuantos Tacos is a MICHELIN-recognized food truck in East Austin, widely considered one of the best spots in the city for authentic Mexico City-style street tacos. Located in the Arbor Food Park, it specializes in "nixtamalized" corn tortillas that are small, thin, and served in the traditional taquero style. The Menu & Signature Tacos The menu is focused and affordable, with most tacos priced around $2.50 each. Suadero: The star of the menu—slow-confit brisket that is tender and flavorful. Cachete: Rich, silky beef cheek. Buche: Deep-fried pork stomach (crispy and savory). Longaniza: Spicy Mexican pork sausage. Champignon: A popular vegetarian option featuring seasoned mushrooms. Sides: Don't skip the Frioles Especiales (pinto beans with bacon and jalapeño) or the Cuantos Quesadilla. The Vibe & Experience Setting: A casual, open-air food court with colorful picnic tables, string lights, and a shared space with other trucks like Comadre Panaderia. No Substitutions: To maintain authenticity and speed, the truck generally does not allow modifications (e.g., "no onions"). All tacos come topped with cilantro and onions unless specified otherwise. Ordering: You order at the window; they provide buzzers for when your food is ready. It is a card-only establishment. Practical Information Address: 1108 E 12th St, Austin, TX 78702. Hours: Tuesday – Thursday: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM. Friday – Saturday: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM. Closed Sunday and Monday. Parking: A small free parking lot is available at the food park, but it fills up fast; street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood. Pet Friendly: Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area. "
