Request “something floral,” for instance, and you may find yourself sipping a mix of lemon, gin, elderflower liqueur, orange bitters and club soda (all drinks are $17). Attaboy uses large ice and frozen glasses to slow dilution, just like the original Attaboy on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Go when it opens at 5 p.m. to avoid having to wait outside if the bar is full. Or if you show up later, put your name on the list and come back. It’s worth it."

Well, the building is kinda slouchy, a cinderblock edifice hidden away in an alley where guests are invited to “knock gently” to gain entry. If the bar is full, you’ll have to wait outside, but once you gain entrance, the fun really begins. Bartenders interview patrons about their drink preferences and then compose cocktails on the fly to fulfill their wildest dreams. Sit at the bar or settle into a blue velvet booth to enjoy a completely crafty cocktail or two."
