"Casa de Sierra Nevada, a Belmond Hotel, is a luxury boutique property located in the historic heart of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. The hotel comprises 37 rooms and suites spread across six colonial mansions, some dating back to the 16th century. These historic buildings feature cloisters, courtyards, and fountains, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the area.  Amenities include a spa offering a range of treatments, a cooking school named Sazón, and two restaurants serving Mexican and international cuisine. The hotel’s central location provides easy access to the town’s cobblestone streets, vibrant markets, and historic sites."

"Casa de Sierra Nevada, a Belmond hotel, which comprises a handful of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century buildings. There are thirty-seven rooms and suites, but it’s really the spaces around them that are special—terraces, gardens, courtyards tucked into corners, stucco walls, the serene pool with a stone front, the garden with rows of lavender, the lobby open to the sky (the couches here are also an excellent place to not work too hard while eating food from the hotel restaurant, Andanza). The staff was incredibly knowledgeable about the property and the area—and just so nice. But while this little utopia raised the bar for hotels in San Miguel, the town's pioneering luxury property is the Casa de Sierra Nevada, which Belmond acquired in 2006 and completely overhauled in 2018. Unlike the Rosewood, which sits at a slight remove from the city, Casa de Sierra Nevada, a Belmond Hotel, is very much of the city. It consists of a cluster of colonial mansions (the main building, Casa Principal, was once the residence of the archbishop of San Miguel) in the Centro, each with half a dozen or so guest rooms around a central courtyard that's walled off from the street, so the vibe is of a private sanctuary right in the middle of everything. The 37 rooms have a slightly wabi-sabi quality, with stone fireplaces, copper-lined tubs, herringbone wood flooring, and regional textiles that all add up to a very authentic kind of elegance. As part of its makeover, the hotel, whose Sazón culinary school ushered in the local mania for cooking classes, has added something called the Artist's Corner, where a resident artist teaches painting classes and meets guests for gallery tours."

"Loved staying here! We were in the old palazzo building which was nice and the one across the street had a lovely pool. A building farther up the hill had a super pretty garden restaurant. Loved how the rooms were decorated in Spanish style and ours had a working fire place!"
