"Wrote in March 2023: “Another cool rite of passage — I tried to wrap my head around just how many people had trodden that same ground across so many years, how many ancestors of people I know, my own ancestors, how many people had their last names changed/Americanized while there…I appreciated the walk-through exhibit that explored different facets of the immigrant experience in each room. Inspections, medical checks, intelligence tests, interrogations, food, immigrant aid societies — a very well-done exhibit. I enjoyed being in the great receiving room hall upstairs and also walking through the history of immigration exhibit on the first floor.”"
