Di An Di : Restaurant vietnamien moderne à Brooklyn

"Poli, Ami | 18.08.23. A lovely place ! Michelin Guide mention 2024 This Vietnamese spot has been thriving as the cool kid on the block for a while now. The menu soothes the soul with well-known favorites, daily specials and of course, an array of pho-also the star of the show. Phö ga, with wide rice noodles and a rich broth bobbing with shredded chicken and fried shallots, is a standout. The menu also veers away from tradition with offerings like vegan baby mustard green rolls with crispy enoki and tender vermicelli. Bánh Trang Nuóng "Ops" is Chef Ngo's ode to the neighborhood pizza spot's famed pie. Here it's given a reboot with perfectly grilled crispy rice paper loaded with egg, onions and drizzled with fermented chili and cheese sauce. It even comes with scissors for cutting your perfect piece."

"Greenpoint Vietnamese Cymande’s “bra” piped through the outdoor jukebox on a recent Friday at the Vietnamese restaurant Di An Di while patrons slurped up brothy vermicelli noodles underneath strings of white lights. Those who arrived after 8:45 p.m. were out of luck, as every table was filled with fashionable young folks in T-shirts and hosts had stopped taking names. Bowls of mi xao bo do bien, firm egg noodles studded with fat slices of squid and shrimp, scented the air with its garlicky perfume. The Before Times menu still hasn’t returned, which means no more rice-paper pizzas for now, but there are newish bánh mì lunch sandwiches stuffed with fried chicken, tofu, or pork belly. And the aromatic shaking beef (bo luc lac), with its wok-seared cubes of medium-rare sirloin and crisp tomato-watercress salad, remains."

"The menu covers a spectrum of Vietnamese cooking, with traditional dishes on one end, original Di An Di inventions on the other, and a lot of classics with a twist in the middle. There are bánh xèo-wrapped summer rolls stuffed with grilled pork, turmeric catfish that comes to your table in a sizzling cast iron skillet, and a shredded chicken salad that’s very quietly waiting for the moment when everyone realizes it’s one of the best things here. And the Pho Thin, packed with perfectly-cooked noodles, brisket, and scallions, and topped with an egg yolk, is one of our favorite bowls of soup in the city. Banh Bot Chien / Fried Daikon Rice Cake Omelette takes a lot for us to get excited about an omelette. This is an omelette that we are extremely excited about. Stuffed with big pieces of fried daikon rice cake, and served with a soy vinegar sauce for dipping, it’s one of the best things on the menu. Phở Gà / Bo Bo Chicken Noodle Soup. Banh Trang Nuong So / Vietnamese “Pizza” With Clams This is up there (alongside a pizza at Pasquale Jones) in our rankings for best clam-on-carb dish in NYC. Gỏi Bưởi / Pomelo Salad With Rock Shrimp Like a rain shower, gust of cold subway wind, or your friend who tends to be too honest, this citrus and shrimp salad is refreshing. Get it if you don’t harbor irrational fears of mixing proteins with fruit."
