"This place is more than just a beer garden — it's a floating community. During its open season between May and October, the Barge regularly hosts educational activities where visitors can learn about the environment and the waterfront. Occasionally, visiting ships provide additional education, events and more. The food consists of the usual suspects: hamburgers, nachos, some grilled options, and plenty of other pub-like options. There are no reservations so be prepared for a potential wait! The great view is worth it. The Brooklyn Barge welcomes the whole family — even your furry children! Children of all ages and leashed dogs can come enjoy the Barge any day of the week until 7 p.m. After 7, the space turns into a 21-and-over affair, so schedule your outing accordingly."
