"Attari Sandwich Shop — Los Angeles, CA Circa: 2026 · Times Visited: 1 A slice of Tehran transplanted onto a Westwood patio, except it's been sitting there for over 20 years and the neighbourhood has built itself around it. First visit and it already felt like somewhere I'd been before, which is either the highest compliment or a sign I need to call my mom more. 🍽️ Food - 7.8 / 10 Sandwiches Sausiss Bandari - 7.8 A fantastic traditional Persian sandwich made in a fresh baguette. The recipe was made perfectly with a little spice to it and a really good balance of potatoes and sausage throughout. This one reminded me of home in the best possible way and that's not something I say lightly about a sandwich. Chicken Kebab Sandwich - 7.4 Same great baguette, juicy Persian chicken kebab and veggies stuffed in. Less traditional in flavor but still really good and very enjoyable. Just living in the shadow of the Sausiss Bandari sitting next to it on the table. 🍸 Drinks - N/A 🤝 Service - 8.0 / 10 Very friendly across the board. We went in while the owner was there and I'll be honest, being Persian probably got us a little extra warmth. But there were lots of non-Persian people in there too including UCLA students and the service for everyone was equally lovely, home-y, and genuinely fast. That consistency matters more than the special treatment. ✨ Vibe - 8.4 / 10 One of the more unique vibes I've come across. The inside is tight and old school but brought to life by the colour on the walls, beautiful decor, and plants everywhere. Articles and clippings covering the proud Persian heritage of Westwood's community line the walls. And then you step out to the patio and everything changes — beautiful greenery, great seating, simple French music in the background tying it all together. In the courtyard you'll also find the official City of LA plaque for Historic Persian Square, which this place sits on. That's not decoration, that's legacy. 💰 Value - 5.65 / 10 North of $60 Canadian for two sandwiches and two Cokes. I understand you're paying for location, legacy, and a piece of something that's been part of this community for over two decades. I get it. I still felt it when the bill came. ⭐ Overall - 7.75 / 10 One visit and it already felt like a place I'd been going to for years, which is the whole point of somewhere like this. The Sausiss Bandari alone is worth the trip to Westwood, the patio is genuinely special, and the Persian Square plaque in the courtyard puts everything in context.
