Ce qu'en disent les utilisateurs

"MaMou is a modern French brasserie situated at 942 North Rampart Street in New Orleans’ French Quarter. Opened in November 2022 by Chef Tom Branighan and Sommelier Molly Wismeier, the restaurant offers a menu that blends French culinary techniques with Creole influences, featuring dishes like escargot tartlets, red bean cassoulet with hogshead cheese, and Gulf fish with oyster dressing. The interior boasts a vibrant, Parisian-inspired design with emerald green accents and floral details, creating an inviting atmosphere that complements its refined cuisine."

"This restaurant is unlike both traditional French restaurants in New Orleans as well as the many Cajun and Creole restaurants. I’d best describe it as a French interpretation of Louisiana food. The dining room is small and quaint with French themed art and a cozy atmosphere. The food was phenomenal, and different from traditional French fare. "

"Very good food, but kinda pricey and cramped. Would come back but not gonna go out of my way to come back. "

"French-sounding dishes are easy to find in the French Quarter. But restaurants whose food closely resembles what you ate on your last trip to Paris have never been that common. MaMou is a French restaurant as much as it is a New Orleans one. While there are nods to local tradition — Gulf fish court-bouillon, red beans in the cassoulet — the chef Tom Branighan owes more to Fernand Point than to Paul Prudhomme. Braised celery hearts carrying thin slices of smoked beef tongue are a representative (and exquisite) menu mainstay. The talents of Mr. Branighan and his business partner, Molly Wismeier, one of the city’s top sommeliers, are well matched. High spirits course through this neighborhood, but rarely coexist with such high refinement."
