"First Time in the downtown Durham location. One of the few restaurant open late on a saturday night. Elegant without being frivolous. We were warmly welcomed 10 out of 10. Maro, our waiter, was incredible and recommended us the Luna Bowl signature and gave us great empanada recommendations. The bowl was the best of everything: it was almost a portion for 2 but I ate everything by myself. There were many different textures: crunchiness, soft black beans, spices, savory carnitas, rice and quinoa. Absolutely one of the best things I tried in a restaurant in months. The Peruvian chicken was very tender and cooked to perfection with a taste I never experienced before. It reminds me of Caribbean braised chicken "poulet boucané". The empanadas were an enormeous amuse-bouche. They were perfection on a plate, served with a tomato and pickled onions salsa and a delicious aioli. It was handmade and comes hot and crispy. We can say this place is our new local favorite, a gem or treasure. In French we call it a "pépite" a "coup de cœur". For 2 the price was really affordable. 64$"
