"0.5mi Length 65ft Elevation gain 0.5–1hr Estimated time Loop For one of the best vantage points on the Sunshine Coast, you cannot go past this accessible loop in Beerburrum West State Forest. It offers all the visual drama of the region's famous volcanic peaks without the need for a strenuous climb. Starting from the main car park, the path winds through a lovely forest of scribbly gums and grass trees. The track is well established, featuring a mix of sealed sections, gravel paths and wooden bridges that cross over small gullies. While it is generally an easygoing route, there are some stairs to navigate as the track dips and rises through the bushland. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, as visitors frequently spot kangaroos grazing near the start of the track, along with plenty of lizards and native birds. The loop connects to the main lookout platform, which offers commanding panoramic views of the landscape. From here, you can clearly identify the iconic shapes of Mount Beerwah, Mount Coonowrin and Mount Tibrogargan rising abruptly from the coastal plain. With excellent facilities at the trailhead, including toilets, picnic tables, and barbecues, this is a perfect spot to enjoy a lunch break. While the track is short, it can get slippery after rain, so wear decent shoes. It is also worth packing insect repellent as mosquitoes can be present in the shadier sections."
