"After the success of Mangerie in Bebek, chef Elif Yalın is making news again with Delicatessen, a place redolent with her love of beautiful ingredients, which you feel the moment you step inside. You’ll find bouquets of flowers, hams hanging from hooks, cheese freshly imported from France and Italy, award-winning olive oil and biscuits still warm to the touch. This neo-industrial space designed by Zeynep Sayın gives pride of place to naturalness and daylight. Upstairs there’s a lounge-bar atmosphere with a good selection of international magazines; downstairs, there’s a more business-meal atmosphere around the open kitchen. Popular with stylish women who shop in Nişantaşı and young creative types from the neighbourhood, Delicatessen is simply the place to go. Dishes vary from house burgers, via freshly imported buratta or grilled lamb and celery root purée to detox salads. Matching the atmosphere, there’s an excellent selection of wine by the glass. Yalın launched a home delivery service in 2011: it makes a last-minute dinner look like a chef’s special."
