"Jantastic Journeys: Oh my - never thought our heads could be turned after Lakes Bled & Bohinj! Our last stop in Slovenia has done exactly that! 😍 📍Lake Jasna - 2 small lakes near the town of Krasnjka Gora - the colours, the backdrop of the Julian Alps .... absolutely lost for words! A lesser known place then Lake Bled & Lake Bohinj .... very different again, but we might actually prefer it here! Can't believe I said that but oh my it is a stunning place! Again the water is crystal clear and changing shades of emerald green! The backdrop makes this place very special indeed 🥰 Its quite small so a very easy walk round the lake perimeters - alongside runs the River Pisnica .... cascades and huge amounts of hikes & cycle routes! You can walk along the river bed too and just admire the beauty! 📍Kranskja Gora - a ski resort in winter, a hikers & cyclists paradise in summer! The gateway of the Triglav National Park - the Vrisnic Pass, which is the highest mountain pass starts from here heading down to the Soca Valley & Bovec! Not sure we could manage this in our van but I can only imagine how stunning this would be! A great place to explore! A real Alpine feel - it's just fab! 😍 📍Blessing of the motorcycles - we were lucky enough to be here for this annual event, where the priest blesses the motorcycles and riders for a safe season of riding! It promotes respect, safety and the rules of safe riding 🥰 Even though Steve didn't have his motorbike here, he got a blessing and the the priest blessed his bike & his mates bikes through his phone! A real special thing to experience 🥰 We stayed at Camp Spik - an easy 6km cycle in to Lake Jasna & Kranskja Gora on dedicated cycle ways - the views are just breathtaking cycling in 😍 The campsite is large but well spaced out amonst tall trees - great facilities with shop & bar on site! 27 euros with ACSI! It is the best view from a toilet block we have had this trip! 😂 Shout out to our son Tom for the inspiration to visit here as it wasn't originally on our list, but how glad are we that we did! 🥰 That's the joy of travelling - no fixed agenda, freedom to explore & experience! Slovenia delivers on all levels and we are very sad to leave, but we will definitely be back - so many more places to explore!
