"893 Ryôtei Behind a graffiti-splattered facade is one of the hippest restaurants in town, and it draws a cosmopolitan in-crowd. Chef Duc Ngo is renowned for a series of pioneering hotspots like upbeat sushi canteen Kuchi (T2838 6622) and Cocolo (T 9833 9073), one of the best ramen joints in the country; here he specialises in nikkei cuisine. The deliberately dim fit-out by Allenkaufmann nods to the shady haunts of the Japanesemafia (893 translates as ya-ku-za). Solitary spotlights hang low over tables, and there is a bondage artwork by Nobuyoshi Araki. From the open kitchen come fusion dishes including butterfish sashimi taquitos and miso black cod.
