"Tasting menu restaurants too often underutilize acid and heat in favor of classic flavors. Not so at Napa Valley’s Press. Past highlights include sticky, spicy and crisp pig ears; celery root soup brightened with tart apple sorbet; and chicken breast with sausage tucked underneath the skin. Housed inside a barn, the space has tall ceilings, a giant ceramic clock and plush, bouncy booths. Diners have the choice between a five-course or seven-course menu. Wine is served by the glass or bottle (or half bottle); cocktails are worthwhile, too, like the off-menu Some Like it Hot, a fan-favorite jalapeño-infused margarita. If you can’t make it to Press for dinner, check out the team’s next-door café Under-study, which whips up luxe avocado toasts and log-shaped croissants."

"1 Michelin star 2025 With a bucolic location off Highway 29, Press enchants with a fireplace and lofty ceilings, and the well-to-do crowd marvels at the decorative ceramic clock sourced from a bygone NY train station. This modern American dining room exudes all the Wine Country vibes, and just so happens to boast the largest collection of Napa wines in the world. Chef Philip Tessier is equally inspired by the location, delivering contemporary, Californian dishes such as Kusshi oysters with whipped horseradish; citrus-cured snapper with yuzu curd; and white truffle risotto that is simply sophisticated. A flawlessly smooth quenelle of chestnut-cognac ice cream sitting over a cloud-like mound of coconut flavored whipped cream is just one of the memorable desserts. "

"Hidden gem in Napa Valley. The bar is perfect for those guests who want a delicious cocktail with an intimate experience. We did the Lounge a la carte menu and everything was delicious. The portion size of the halibut relative to the price seemed a little off but that’s our only tiny complaint. We would go back in a heartbeat!"

"Press is one of the best restaurants in Napa, and it’s a serious place - the meats and produce in this steak-focused restaurant are all sourced locally, and the wine cellar is about as deep as they get in this town. But it’s not just about meat and cabernet. Press is essentially a farm-to-table restaurant that also happens to have a cowboy ribeye on the menu, and that’s why we love it."
